Born and raised in Northern Michigan, I took an art class each and every semester— from grade school through college. I would sketch and paint portraits of everyone that meant something to me. It was my sole creative outlet for years, until I picked up a camera.

Suddenly, I had the desire to photograph everything and anything— even the most mundane moments. Once I began capturing people, my magnetic pull to portraits made sense.

It is my passion to tell a story through carefully crafted photos of my subjects, while documenting both the uniqueness and authenticity of the moment. That’s where the “documentary photography” part comes in. While I direct my subjects, creating a seamless and comfortable shoot, I capture what is true and unique to you.
